Switching CMS Platforms

If you’re moving from one platform to another (e.g., WordPress to BigCommerce, Squarespace to Webflow), here’s what you need to know about your SEOJuice integration.

Before You Migrate

  1. Export your current links — Go to your website dashboard and export your internal links. This gives you a record of all links SEOJuice created, which you can reference during migration.
  2. Note your current settings — Take screenshots or note your include/exclude paths, key pages, link factors, and optimization modes so you can re-apply them on the new site.

During Migration

Your SEOJuice subscription stays active and is tied to your domain, not your CMS platform. When your new site goes live:

  1. Update the integration — Remove the old script/plugin and add the appropriate integration for your new platform:

  2. SEOJuice re-crawls automatically — Within 24–72 hours, SEOJuice will detect your new site structure and re-index all pages.

  3. Links regenerate — Internal links from the old site do not carry over. SEOJuice analyzes your new content and generates fresh, contextually relevant links based on the new structure.

  • Old internal links were injected via JavaScript — they were never part of your source code, so there’s nothing to remove from the old site.
  • Once your new site is live with the SEOJuice script, new links will start appearing within 24–72 hours of the crawl completing.

Re-Apply Your Settings

After migration, review your website settings in the dashboard:

  • Include/Exclude paths — Your URL structure may have changed (e.g., /blog/ might now be /articles/). Update paths accordingly.
  • Key pages — Re-designate your most important pages for link prioritization.
  • Optimization modes — Verify your preferred modes (Off, Suggest, One-Click, Automate) are set correctly.

Domain Changes

If your domain is also changing (e.g., oldsite.com to newsite.com), you’ll need to add the new domain as a new website in the SEOJuice dashboard. Contact support at hello@seojuice.io if you need to transfer your subscription to a different domain.
